SHIFT curricula and courses were designed by highly qualified professionals with expertise in education, technology solutions, intellectual & developmental disabilities, and organizational development & sustainability.   Each credential and certification has its own learning plan that includes: coursework, downloadable materials, and knowledge checks. SHIFT currently offers the following credentials & certifications:

The Enabling Technology Credential (ETC) is most appropriate for direct support professionals, self-advocates, families and other supporters who desire a basic knowledge of enabling technology integration.

The Enabling Technology Integration Specialist Certification (ETIS) is most appropriate for professionals who specialize in the integration of enabling technology.  These professionals often work with a provider organization or state agency to complete assessments, identify & implement appropriate technology solutions, provide training, and serve as a resource & mentor to other staff.

The Enabling Technology Navigator Certification (ETN)  is most appropriate for people who are responsible for developing and writing person-centered plans (case managers, service coordinators, program coordinators, etc.).

The Enabling Technology Leadership Certification (ETL) is most appropriate for the person who leads an organization in the process of a Technology First culture shift.  This person will be the point of contact for the accreditation process, if applicable.

Organizational Accreditation is most appropriate for those organizations who are committed to adopting a Technology First culture – applying person-centered planning and technology integration as a natural support and heightening awareness of the Technology First movement and its impact on person-centered supports.
